A support system for your mattress is highly recommended:
The best option is to use a Leesa base to provide proper support and avoid sagging. If you prefer to use a different support system, we recommend using a bunkie board with a box spring or any support system with firm, flat and thick slats.
No matter which support system you choose, the slats should be no wider than 4.5” apart, as that could cause sagging and could potentially void your warranty. Traditional box springs typically do not provide enough support for Leesa mattresses.
If you have an existing foundation that has support beams with gaps wider than 4.5" apart, putting down a piece of plywood that fits the frame can do just the trick. This piece of wood is sometimes called a "bunkie board."
If you are worried about stains, spills, or dirt:
We suggest you purchase one of our mattress protectors or mattress encasement options, which are machine washable, water-resistant, and hypoallergenic.
If your mattress experiences liquid spills, we recommend that you spot clean the area with a mild detergent and apply gentle dabbing to lift the stain. (Please avoid any rubbing.) The mattress cover should not be removed from your Leesa mattress.
We recommend that you rotate (not flip) your mattress 180 degrees about every 4-6 months:
Because our foams are layered in a specific order for maximum comfort, the Leesa mattress should always be positioned with the stripes facing up toward the ceiling. This prevents uneven wear-and-tear and allows for a more even weight distribution.
