Setting up your new Leesa Adjustable Base is simple with this step-by-step guide. Watch the video, and/or follow the instructions below or attached to get started, enjoy a smooth assembly, and ensure safe use.
What You’ll Need
- The Leesa Adjustable Base (components included in the package)
- A friend or family member to help with assembly (the base is heavy and requires lifting)
- Scissors or a box cutter to open packaging carefully
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare Your Workspace
- Choose a clean, flat space near the spot where you’ll place your adjustable base. Ideally, set up in your bedroom for easy handling.
- Clear the area of furniture, rugs, or objects that could get in the way.
2. Unbox the Base
- Carefully open the box using scissors or a box cutter. Be cautious to avoid damaging the base inside.
- Remove all components from the box and lay them out. Confirm you have all the parts by checking the included instruction sheet.
3. Attach the Legs
- Locate the legs for the base. Screw them into the designated spots at the four corners (or more, depending on the model). Tighten them by hand; avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to the threads.
4. Flip the Base
- With the help of another person, carefully flip the base over so it stands upright on its legs. Make sure the surface is sturdy and level before continuing.
5. Connect the Power System
- Locate the power cord and plug it into the port on the underside of the base. Plug the other end into a nearby electrical outlet. Avoid using an extension cord if possible.
- Use the included zip ties or clips to secure the cord and keep it tidy to prevent tripping.
6. Install the Mattress Retainer Bar
- Locate the mattress retainer bar (usually found at the foot of the base). Slide it into the designated slots and ensure it’s secured tightly to hold your mattress in place.
7. Test the Adjustable Function
- Insert batteries into the remote control (check the manual for specifics).
- Use the remote to test the adjustable features, such as raising and lowering the head and foot of the base. Make sure everything moves smoothly.
8. Place Your Mattress
- Once you’ve confirmed the base is functioning correctly, place your Leesa mattress on top. Ensure it’s centered and fully supported by the base.
Important Tips
- Read the manual: Be sure to follow the detailed manual included with your base for any model-specific instructions.
- Don’t lift alone: Always use two people to lift or move the base to avoid strain or injury.
- Check weight capacity: Confirm that your mattress and sleeper(s) don’t exceed the base’s weight limit.
- Secure sords: Keep wires and cords tucked neatly to avoid tripping or tangling.
Safety Notes
- Avoid getting the motor or electrical components wet.
- Always unplug the base before performing any maintenance or when cleaning underneath.
- Use the base as intended; do not stand or jump on it.
